Is THINKERS a real church?

Yes. The Theological Heretics Institute for the Nurture of Knowledge, Enlightenment, Reconciliation and Salvation is registered in the State of Texas in the same manner as any other recognized church. Our ministers have the same legal privileges as other churches.

What is the creed of the THINKERS Church?

The only creed we strictly adhere to is that no creed (including ours) is above examination.  Other tenets we take as rules of thumb rather than dogma include:

Wisdom is always good even if it comes from someone who is not.

Freedom of Religion can only exist if Church and State are Separate.

Heresy is the basis for all theological progress.

Is this some NewAge cult?

If you mean do we sleep with crystals under the pillow and such, then no. It is in no way a cult in the sense that we would seek to control our members or separate them from their current faith.  In a way it could be called New Age because it is one of many new efforts to leave the Dark Ages approach to religion based solely on authority without discounting the value of a spiritual life and a worldview less constrained by one closed system of reason or another.

So what’s the deal, do you believe in God, or what?

If you have to ask, then we probably would not agree on what you mean by “believe in God” and you would come away with the idea that, no, we don’t, but in general, yes we do. Hope that helps.

Why don’t you approve my comments?
Generally, there are one of three reasons why your comment
was not approved:

You are just selling something

We just have not gotten to approving comments lately

Your comment was not friendly or not civil

You just repeated the prior comments

How frequently does anybody actually ask any of these questions?

Actually, like most FAQs we simply made up questions we expect you to ask, but you can really ask a question in the comments below, and if it is frequently asked, we will update this page to include it.
